  • I am currently enjoying my 30th year as a Business Broker –having sold hundreds of businesses over my career  
  • I am a REIQ Certified Practising Business Broker, some years ago I was Chairman of the Business Brokers Chapter of the REIQ, and have also been a member of the Australian Institute of Business Brokers [AIBB]   
  • I currently hold licenses in Queensland and then ACT but have been licensed in  NSW, South Australia, and New Zealand 
  • In the past I was a recognized trainer and speaker on Business Sales/ Acquisitions with the REIQ and the Office of State Development Qld thru-out Queensland. 
  • I have managed open lectures on Business Sales / Acquisitions in FNQ, Brisbane and on the Gold Coast for those two relevant bodies
  • I created the “award winning” Associated Business Sales Brokerage at Bundall, some 25 years ago, the brokerage was sold 18 years ago, it subsequently changed its name to National Business Sales
  • I resigned my position as Principal of that group some 6 years after it was sold, and created a “boutique brokerage” which now operates under the name of Johnston Business Sales Pty Ltd.
  • In my business, I provide a professional and genuine service to clients and as I only manage a limited number of selected accounts, - and I usually sell what businesses I take on. 
  • Our fees are industry standard. 
  • The sale fee is usually “performance based” – no sale - means no fee! 
  • We are always prepared to conjunct with other brokers and share the fee base – as selling the business in the shortest time frame is of vital importance to my clients   
  • Whenever possible, we prefer to exclusively manage the “listed business” so I can effectively manage the enquiry levels, and provide accurate and consistent marketing information to prospective buyers and the owner, when and where required. 
  • We usually provide a fortnightly or monthly activity summary, so each client can judge the market acceptance of the campaigns and market performances to date, although at times there just isn’t enough hours in a day to supply reports within that given time frame but I am always available via      mobile or email    
  • To ensure maximum exposure, we advertise on 8 national and internationally based websites – including the most popular Australian sites ie:

  • Of most importance, we endeavour to price a business for sale on he basis that 

“The Seller wants the best possible price” while always considering what the market and buyers are  going to pay, the “overall availability and attitude of potential buyers for the specific business”  

  • Our office is Gold Coast based, while being actively involved on the Gold Coast and Brisbane regions, I have marketed and sold businesses  thru-out Queensland and New South Wales, whenever the need arose.
